At IPinfo I work as a Web Engineer, focusing on the marketing website and integrations. I was responsible for the update of the website from an old stack to the new stack based on Next.js and TailwindCSS, the work included a new, modern design system, branding, and copywriting.

A new website for the future

IPinfo transitioned quickly from a bootstrapped startup to a massive player in tech. The website evolved accordingly, with a fresh design and a modern stack.

Pixel-perfect

Focused on pixel-perfect implementation of the design, and created foundations for future updates by being consistent with the Design System.

Performance

Code quality, thoughtful decisions and attention to detail allow for great performance, avoiding confusion about the blazing-fast API

Created dozens of pages using Next.js and TailwindCSS, with complex designs, with pixel-perfect attention. Also worked on the back-end to manage the data being passed to the front-end, using Node.js, PostgreSQL and many integrations. All this work was done with testing and Git Workflows to guarantee the quality of the code. Most notably:

• Updated the homepage

  The new homepage received a heavy traffic of leads and customers. The work included complex components, spanning from front-end to back-end adjustments to display not only the correct data, but the visually expected result.

• Improved the login, sign-up and billing experiences

  Moved the login, sign-up and pricing pages to the new design, using the Next.js and TailwindCSS stack adapting the back-end accordingly. Worked on the payment gateway integration as well.

• Worked on projects with complex infrastructure

  The projects had multiple applications, integrations and services. They also had complex deployment pipelines and PR testing.

• Helped the marketing team achieve their goals

  Used Google Analytics and a CRM, while guaranteeing functionality both in the legacy and new codebase, while constantly participated in discussions about the appropriate technologies and methods.

• Developed new pages for new products and features

  The work required consistent use of the design system, creation of new complex and reusable components, and important new pages and features.

• Learned about the core structure of the internet

  Given the field of the company, I had the opportunity to have a deep understanding of how the internet data works, and how the company could improve precision and create more products.

• Onboarded new team members

  Structured documents and had meetings with new team members to increase the familiarity with the code, the processes and structure of our team.

• Participated in a globally distributed team

  The company had collaborators all over the world, and we constantly had to adapt to common changes in a growing company, keeping in mind the asynchronous communication.
